Pressure and Pleasure

It’s March, and the pressure is on! With my new position as Farm/CSA Manager at Fox Hollow Farm in South Huntington, NY, I am entrusted to get the seed orders in, the seeds started, the beds planned, and way too many other things to note here. While this is a tight deadline time, it is also one that propels me into the growing season with a burst of can-do energy.
While I’ve already sown my Shallot seeds for the my SARE Grant, and Artichokes to vernalize and “trick” into flowering, with Spring around the corner, that means seed starting begins in earnest. Cabbage, Broccoli, Scallions and Leeks are on this weeks docket.
Hmmm...probably need to eat more of that Bok Choi and Escarole that is taking up precious greenhouse space...better sign off and get cooking, planting, planning! So, ciao for now!
