Christmas Breakfast

Enjoyed a sustainable, mostly local and organic breakfast this Christmas morning.

First the Local: Apple Pancakes made with
Jen’s Hens pastured eggs (Smithtown, NY), goat milk from Coach Farms (Pine Plains, NY), butter from Evan’s Farm Creamery (Norwich, NY), flour from Champlain Valley Mills (Westport, NY), and Apples from Mediavilla Orchards (Huntington, NY). REAL maple syrup from, where else, but Vermont.

Now the Sustainable:
Applegate Farms breakfast sausage (Humanly raised), and Equal Exchange Fair Trade Coffee.

It is both a gift and a luxury to live so close to where our food is made and to purchase humanely raised meat and far flung products that treat the producers with dignity and fair compensation.
