Keeping Warm this Winter!

Baking has been an on again, off again love affair of mine, as evidenced by the myriad pans, peels and pins that roll around in my “baking” drawer.
But, like every new attempt at love, this time it’s going to be different....Really!
After becoming dislodged from my farming gig this summer, I began to refocus on what I’d like to do and I’ve come to the conclusion that working for oneself is the only way to go. But what to do?
When the going gets tough, some go shopping. I go projecting. This resulted in my thinking over winter growing and winter markets. Why kill yourself in the summer months running to summer markets when Winter allows the slack of time to be taken up with indoor endeavors....like Jamming and Baking.
So, Jam-N-Bread was born.
Starting off with all recipes using a natural leavener I made from Nancy Silverton’s Breads from the La Brea Bakery and developed using my own Niagara grapes growing alongside my house.
Reminding myself that practice makes perfect, and though I’ve made my share of mistakes along the way, I’ve learned from them the way we always do, by making them!
